Good morning! I know I say it every week but the weekends seem to always go by in a blur and next thing you know it's already Monday and you're back in the office. I hope everyone had a great weekend, did you do anything fun? I was actually in Richmond participating in a bowling event for Autism Speaks. I haven't been bowling in quite some time but I was surprised with my 164 when it was all said and done.
Anyways! Let's get to Monday's post. Jose Cuervo typically known for bad ideas and painful mornings have come up with a unique campaign challenging Mexicans to grow really big mustaches! Now they aren't just doing this for any reason whatsoever, but they are actually celebrating the country's bicentennial next month. Anonimo, the agency behind this campaign came up with the slogan "Let's Celebrate 200 Years of Mustaches," playing off one of "Mexico's most iconic national symbols, the macho-man mustache, as sported by revolutionary Pancho Villa" (AdAge).
The idea is for Mexicans to grow the most outrageous looking mustache before September 16th and to upload photos of their mustache to the site www.bigotes.mx. Now if you were wondering, bigote is Spanish for mustache, and the art of mustache growing is cleverly called bigotizar! Now, Jose Cuervo didn't want to only target men in this campaign so they opened it up to the non-mustache growing segment the women by allowing them to just paint the mustache on their face. As amusing as that might be I don't know if I want to see a bunch of women with mustaches!
Anyways, here is the video describing the campaign. Now I must warn you it's all in Spanish which means I didn't understand a word of it but you on the other hand might actually speak Spanish, and know what's going on.
Enjoy the video and the rest of your day!
